Northern Michigan Astronomy Club Reconciles With Emmet Co. – 9&10 News
Emmet County says it’s come up with a plan to keep a group of astronomers invested in their park.
Last week, we told you about a disagreement between the Northern Michigan Astronomy Club and Emmet County’s Headlands International Dark Sky Park.
Before the club, another nonprofit ran the programming.
When they disbanded they left money to the county.
The club feels this money should have gone toward their program’s needs.
Because the county decided to spend the money on other needs, the astronomer group decided to cut ties last week.
But now the county says they and the club came together to purchase new telescopes and other items.
