Besser Museum Astronomy Club excursion planned | News, Sports, Jobs – Alpena News
The Besser Museum Planetarium Astronomy Club is planning an excursion this month, to take place at a date between Feb. 15 and 29, as weather allows. A night with a clear sky will be ideal for viewing the planet Venus, binary stars, nebula(e) and even a star cluster, from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Duck Park. Planetarium Coordinator Johnathan Winckowski will be setting up his telescope to view the night sky.
Since this event’s date is so dependent on the weather, he will make an announcement on Twitter (@BesserPlanetar1) and Facebook (@AlpenaPlanetarium) at 7 p.m. each evening to let people know whether or not conditions are satisfactory for observing.
This event is free and open to the public. Call 989-356-2202 for more information.
