He told ET Panache, “It helps as a great alternative from the daily pressures one faces and provides a larger perspective view of how we fit into this universe. This hobby has helped me gain a larger perspective and more importantly has reignited my curiosity and child-like wonder.”
Additionally, Gera also follows cosmology research which is constantly evolving and providing new insights. “It lets us learn more and more about the origins of this cosmos; a subject that has always fascinated me and piqued my curiosity. I was always intrigued by the forces that govern and shape our existence and closely follow the latest theories and hypotheses about us and the universe that is out there,” he said.
While looking up and studying the skies on any ordinary day is the typical joy of following astronomy for Gera. There are special nights when he visit locations far from city with lesser light pollution, during some months of the year when the skies have more activity or meteor showers.
“I do make it a point to travel for this hobby with some like-minded friends and my prized telescope. The size of the universe and the magnitude of forces in action gives another perspective to our lives, our obsessions and the things that often serve as trappings in our day to day life. It puts in perspective what it means to be truly alive in this universe and how magnificently we fit into it, while playing an extremely small role in the workings of it,” he shared.
There has been immense learning like the celestial bodies and space that the health startup boss sees. “Astronomy also reveals the multitude of dimensions of reality that exist and also confirms how transient everything in fact is. What we as human beings hold so closely based on our assumptions is in fact diametrically different when viewed from the universal lens. In some ways it has become a part of my entrepreneurial journey and helped me remain pragmatic amidst the day to day workings of growing a business,” he signed off saying.
